The Hummingbird House by Donna Ball

I did it, I managed to squeeze in another book before the next book club book and I just want to share it with you.  I was missing the girls from the Ladybug Farm series, so jumped in to read the last book, number 7 in the series, The Hummingbird House.  Although it is book 7 in the series, the woman are in the story a little, but the main focus is Paul and Derrick.  The artsy and eccentric friends set out to open their B & B, which is lovingly called The Hummingbird House.

Comfort Me with Apples by Ruth Reichl

I love food, cooking and writing, and Ruth Reichl is a woman after my own heart. Comfort Me with Apples is a book I sunk my teeth into and loved from beginning to end. The story begins in 1978 where Ruth is living in a commune in Berkeley, California, married and beginning life as a restaurant critic and food writer. Sounds like an interesting life.  Ruth begins to travel the world, eating her way through countries and writing about the experiences, her job sounds like the perfect job and a dream come true.  Life is full of adventure, but….
